Why?
Hey there, guess what, I made tortillas again! Why? Ugh, are you seriously asking this? You’re supposed to support me through every choice I make and never question me. Oh, you’re just me writing this and want whoever is reading this to know why you decided to make tortillas twice? Cool, well here’s the dealio! I made tortillas again for a few reasons and I don’t feel like not putting them in a list so let’s put them in a list (I love lists):
- Due to the criminal amount of schoolwork that I had on my to-do list for this week and weekend, I did not have time to make anything more complex. I was gonna make bagels which required ingredients I didn’t have, and no, I don’t have time to run to the grocery store so thanks for reminding me.
- The last time I made tortillas I expressed how if I were to make them again that I would try to go for a larger sandwich wrap-sized tortilla. It just so happens that I’ve decided this weekend is the time to do that.
- I want to eat a wrap for lunch, how will I do that without any wraps…? Exactly.
Did it Work Though?
Dude! Thanks so much for asking, I’m glad you care or else this blog post would be kinda pointless. Okay, so I decided dividing the tortillas into 8ths this time (instead of 16ths or doubling) would work best. The biggest reason I decided to do it this way was that I didn’t only want 4 wraps, I would have eaten them all in like 3 days, and I also didn’t want to make 16 large ones as that would probably take up way too much room in my empty fridge, and … you know what, I think I just forgot that I said I would try doubling the recipe. Oh well! Too late now!
Okay, I know you wanna see the photos, so here’s the LIFE OF TORTILLAS (pt.2)

They turned out perfectly! And, they were larger this time too which is exactly what I was going for. Now, I know this is hard to see in the photos so I’ve included my plate sizes for comparison. The first plate (to the left) is my smallest plate and I used this one to stack the tortillas the first time I made them. The second plate (to the right) is my largest plate which I used to stack the tortillas from this attempt. You can also look at the parchment paper squares, which are reused from the first attempt. They look significantly larger on the first image of tortillas.

Conclusion
Overall I am extremely proud of myself for trying this recipe again and getting results I am far happier with. I made a wrap for lunch and it was super yummy! Thanks for tuning in for this week of Scott’s Thoughts bread-making journey! See you next week for what I’m hoping is a homemade bagel review 😀
