Welcome to my First Free Inquiry Blog Post!
Okay, I have a quick question for you. What’s something so many of us have in our pantry or fridge that is delicious in many meals and contains good stuff like protein, vitamins, minerals, fibre and carbohydrates? (2022). You’ve got it! It’s bread!
A couple of months ago, I found myself eating bread every single day. I loved bread and I still do, but it got me thinking . . . why don’t I just make my own bread? And that is exactly what my project is going to be! I’ll be mastering the art of making bread! Throughout my journey I will attempt to bake all sorts of loaves and — if I pick it up quickly — I may traverse into making things like buns, tortillas, pita, naan, and more! However, before I get into fancier stuff, I want to first master a nice sandwich bread. To do that I will start with a simple white bread. Then, once that is mastered, I will try a more hearty bread like a multigrain loaf with seeds. I will be blogging both my successes and failures, as well as reflecting on anything I found easy or struggled with. I won’t be afraid to go into depth with my experiences as I want to be as transparent as possible for anyone who also finds themselves inspired to start baking bread for themselves as well. I will also include in my blog any cool meals I make with my bread. My main goal by the end is to no longer depend on store-bought breads, and instead, just eat solely homemade breads! There are a lot of benefits to this, some being the cost — which I’ve been told is significantly cheaper — as well as better ingredients (no preservatives), and of course, the rewarding feeling you get after you just baked bread for yourself! I am most excited to make lots of mistakes and to learn everything there is to know about bread-making! I’m unsure how much it will cost, but I’m hoping I don’t waste too much money on ingredients.
So, to kick it off I’ll be getting going this weekend by making a simple white bread. I’ve tried this recipe a couple of times prior but both times I have not been too successful. I’m hoping the third time’s the charm! I chose this recipe because of how few ingredients there were, and because it came paired with a video. Stay tuned to see how my bread-making journey pans out!
